About Games Like Wordle

Games Like Wordle exists for the moment after you share your grid and want something else to solve. There are thousands of Wordle-inspired games, many of them copies of each other, so this guide keeps to the ones that add something, are still running, and are made by people who put their names on their work.

Games Like Wordle is made by the team behind Gamefinity, a site of free games that start in a second in your browser. We write and check every page here ourselves.

How we pick and test games

For this guide we checked each game against what makes Wordle satisfying: a fair hidden answer, clear feedback after every guess, and a game short enough for a break. We read its rules and prices on its own site, noted the word length and the number of guesses, and wrote down what it keeps from Wordle and what it changes.

Every game on the guide was opened on its maker's own site (or its official store page) on the date shown beside it, where we confirmed that it exists, what it is, what it costs and where it runs. We write what it is, why it is like Wordle and what is different in our own words. We take no payment or free copies for a place on the list, and nothing here is an ad. When a game changes, closes or starts charging, we update or remove it.

Our own games on the list

3 of the 13 picks (Wordlock, Exactly, Vowel Stealer) are games we make. They carry a "Made by us · Gamefinity" label everywhere they appear, their Play links go to gamefinity.io, and they get the same rating scale as everything else. We only include one of ours where it is a fair answer to "what should I play if I like Wordle?", and we say what it does worse as well as what it does well.

How the ratings work

Ratings are ours, out of 5, in halves. They rate each game as a pick for someone who likes Wordle: how close the fun is, how well it plays on a phone and a computer, how fair its price or ads are, and how much of it there is. They are not review scores collected from anywhere else.
