Wordle unlimited: free ways to play more than one a day
Updated October 22, 2026 · 2 min read
The New York Times gives you one Wordle a day and keeps the past puzzles in a subscriber archive. If one is not enough, these games let you keep going for free. Each one is made by someone who puts their name on it, unlike the many sites that simply borrow the name.
What the New York Times offers
The daily puzzle is free and there is no official practice or unlimited mode. The Wordle Archive, launched in May 2024, holds every puzzle back to June 2021, and it needs an NYT Games or All Access subscription, as does WordleBot, the tool that grades your guesses. If you already subscribe, the archive is the most authentic way to play more.
Same rules, as many games as you like
These keep Wordle's six tries and colour clues, or come very close, with no daily limit.
The purest unlimited Wordle: press Enter after a round for a new random word, and set the length anywhere from 4 to 11 letters.
- WordlockOurs
Word after word against a clock that tops up with every solve, for when you want a session rather than a single puzzle.
Its free mode deals new pairs of words whenever you like, alongside the daily pair.
The Practice mode generates as many four-board games as you want, and each has a code you can send a friend to play the same one.
Long sessions: lots of boards at once
If what you want is one long puzzle rather than many short ones, the multi-board games stretch Wordle into a quarter of an hour or more.
Eight words in 13 guesses, with a Practice mode and an archive of past dailies.
- Duotrigordle
Thirty-two words in 37 guesses, with a Practice mode, an archive, leaderboards and a Perfect Challenge that asks for all 32 in exactly 32 guesses.
A different puzzle, without the daily wait
Its free unlimited mode and past games let you keep hunting words by meaning long after the daily one is solved.
The whole archive of past Waffles is free to play, plus a 90-second challenge mode and packs of ten puzzles.
A free Practice mode deals a new phrase whenever you like, with the same six tries and four colours as the daily.
- Squabble
Wordle as a live battle royale: race other players to solve five-letter words, where good guesses damage opponents and bad ones cost you health. Matches run from two players up to 99, and you can play as many as you like when the lobbies are busy.
Questions people ask
Can I play old Wordle puzzles?
Yes, through the New York Times Wordle Archive, which holds every puzzle since June 2021 and needs an NYT Games or All Access subscription. Free sites that call themselves a Wordle archive are not run by the Times.
Is Hello Wordl the same as Wordle?
It plays the same way, with six tries and the same colours, and its maker describes it as a remake. The differences are that it is unlimited, lets you choose the word length and is not connected with the New York Times.
